I don’t think the name will matter though, because the graphical tools actually do pick up the ‘wlan0’. Computer gremlins are coming to me in threes these days. So it is hard for me to conclude that the HD is bad. This time, no luck. So that surprised me to see the drive was still there.

Doing this with XP destroys all data, even if you put it in the same partition, etc.
The only two reasons I had been keeping wwireless windows partition was for dvd viewing and wirless, but yesterday I got dvds to work using the xine player, and now, finally, after four months, it looks as if wirless is finally working for me.
This computer originally came with windows XP.
The brief history, got it 4 months ago with XP Pro, seemed to work, but bugged up soon, it either had a virus or got one because I hadn’t yet installed AV. It has modern styling, although the screen is not wwireless and low like the current trend.
