You could try fiddling with the port settings. I went for win 7 8 is awful and xp is good but history. Mine are set like this: You could try enabling Legacy Plug and Play and see if that helps. The LPT 1 address you give 0xh to 0xF is the one the cnc is looking for, i think it can be changed but to what!

It is Windows that is misconfigured. Most of those cards default to LPT3. However, if you happen to have a motherboard without them and try to add them with a PCI card, it will no longer be possible as of XP to have any fully featured ones on your computer, so just get over it.

It’s funny that the driver for the LPT card doesn’t automatically choose an address that isn’t being used.
